In 2007, long-time Credit Union of Georgia members, Sheila and Robert Towers, purchased and financed two new vehicles through GMAC at 8% each.

More than a year later, in 2009, in addition to its already low loan rates, Credit Union of Georgia ran its Rate Busters Promotion, which offers members the opportunity to lower their current Auto Loan Rate by at least 1% APR.

Mrs. Towers heard about the promotion and spoke with Credit Union of Georgia Business Development Representative, Kathy Bouyett, during one of the Credit Union’s visits to the School District’s Transportation Department.  Ms. Bouyett soon put Mrs. Towers in touch with Credit Union Branch Manager, Craig Landrum. 

Mr. Landrum was able to refinance both of the Towers’ vehicle loans at a much lower rate of 4.95%, saving the Tower’s more than $4,000.00 over the life of both loans!

Mr. and Mrs. Towers couldn’t be more pleased.  Mrs. Towers says of her experience with Credit Union of Georgia:  “I am much happier dealing with REAL people face-to-face, dealing with actual members of the community and seeing familiar and friendly faces when I visit my nearest Credit Union branch location to make my loan payments.”
