Statesboro, GA (January 22, 2010) - Do you know of one simple thing you can do to help the environment? CORE Credit Union recently asked its members to help improve the environment, and it also provided a way to do it: e-statements.
E-statements are electronic versions of the paper statements normally received via mail with a listing of savings, checking, and loan account transactions. Instead of using paper and toner to produce printed statements, which usually end up in the trash, e-statements provide the same information as a paper statement. Members receive an email informing them the e-statement is available, then they can log onto a secure server to retrieve it. Not only is this better for the environment, but it is much quicker than receiving the statement via mail.
CORE Credit Union recently held a promotion to encourage its members to try e-statements. Each member that switched to e-statements during a recent month was entered into a drawing to win a netbook computer. Mrs. Marilyn Turner, a member of CORE Credit Union since 1994, was the winner. She is pictured with Lisa Smith, Systems Operator for CORE Credit Union.
