Each holiday season, employees of Atlanta Postal Credit Union (APCU) select a local charity or cause to sponsor. This year, donations of school supplies were gathered for New Hope Elementary, a local Atlanta-area elementary school.
New Hope Elementary School is located in Locust Grove, Georgia, and is one of many Atlanta-area schools that have been affected by recent budget cuts. The budget cuts have resulted in an increased need for basic classroom school supplies. Some of the school supplies that were on New Hope Elementary’s wish list include: crayons, glue, markers, pens and pencils, scissors, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, rulers, hand sanitizer, band aids, and much, much more.
In keeping with the credit union’s annual holiday tradition, the donated school supplies collected were used to decorate one of APCU’s branch office Christmas trees. Following Christmas, the donated items were delivered by APCU employees to New Hope Elementary.
“Atlanta Postal Credit Union looks forward to selecting a new organization to support each year. And, we are happy to have had the opportunity to help supply New Hope Elementary School with the tools they need to ensure a bright and promising future for our children,” said Dianne Yost, APCU’s Senior VP of Marketing.

APCU’s Human Resource Assistant, Melinda Corley, and APCU’s Member Communication Specialist, Lauren Stock, participated in Star 94’s Cares for Kids Radiothon to help raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
