How to Write a News Release

The news release is still the best way to garner media attention and get your news and information to the right persons to report about your credit union. A news release is a short story designed to provide vital information about your credit union. It should not be used to sell your services, but rather to attract the attention of the media, entice the public’s interest and offer enough information to make them want more.

The information in your news release should be focused on a main message. Support this information with quotes and facts. Include your contact information so reporters can reach you for comments or additional information.
