Georgia Credit Union Affiliates represents the interests of Georgia credit unions in three areas:
- Government Influence – state and federal elected officials
- Regulatory Influence – state and federal regulators
- Public Influence – media, credit unions, consumers, community, business and charitable organizations
Through a variety of communications and outreach activities, the Advocacy Team works to strengthen, promote and increase awareness of credit unions in the public, media and political arenas.

Staying abreast of key legislative issues in Washington, D.C., and in Georgia, the Affiliates ensures that credit unions have a voice in how they can conduct business and serve their members – now and in the future. Credit unions can access legislative updates, provide comments on pending legislation, and participate in political activities to support credit union-friendly candidates. The Government Influence link provides information about current federal and state legislation as well as information about current legislative advocacy programs. |

Staying abreast of key regulatory issues in Washington D.C. and in Georgia, the Affiliates ensures that credit unions have a voice in how proposed regulations might impact the way they conduct business and serve their members. Credit unions can access proposed regulatory changes and provide comments on pending regulations as well as current rules and regulations.
Grassroots Action Center

Impacting audiences with positive messages that influence a favorable image of credit unions is the goal of public relations activities. The primary purpose of the Georgia Credit Union League Advocacy Plan is to leverage the influence of Georgia credit unions in the policy deliberations of legislators, regulators and other government officials. In addition, the Plan outlines efforts to create a positive reputation for credit unions in the minds of Georgia consumers by sharing the views and value proposition of the Georgia credit union community with the media, consumer advocates and consumers.
