D. Culbertson
Chief Advocacy Officer
Mike
Culbertson is Chief Advocacy Officer for
Georgia Credit Union Affiliates. He serves as one of the state
credit union trade association's registered lobbyists. This
team of Georgia credit union advocates has the primary responsibility
to communicate credit union perspective and positions to state
legislators and credit union leaders. They are responsible
for the coordination of Georgia credit unions' legislative
objectives with state lawmakers.
Culbertson
previously served as President of Credit Union Service Corporation
(CUSC), headquartered in Duluth, Georgia, from 1996 to March
of 2003. CUSC provides the teller and data processing
switching service and support to credit unions in 20 states.
This service is offered through state level organizations
and offers the opportunities to the credit union members to
receive financial services throughout this interstate network.
Prior
to that, he worked at the Kansas Credit Union Association
and Affiliates, eventually serving as League President for
seven years. Culbertson was actively involved in the development
of the shared branching service to the credit unions in the
state of Kansas. He participated in the legislative and regulatory
processes at both the state and national levels. During his
tenure at the Kansas League, he also served as CEO of Kansas
Corporate Credit Union for one year.
His
financial service experience also includes positions as a
loan officer at various financial institutions, credit union
branch manager, CEO of a Kansas bank owned by credit unions,
and vice president of the Ohio Credit Union League. |
